Bills whose amount changes

Some bills, like electricity or water, cost a different amount every time. Turn on Amount varies and Surrah keeps the expected amount close to what you actually pay.

Turn it on

When you add or edit a repeating commitment, turn on Amount varies. It's already on when you add a new Bill. Enter your best guess as the amount: it stays your estimate until you've paid twice.

While Amount varies is on, the payment can't be recorded On the due date, because the amount isn't known in advance. Choose Manually, or From bank messages so the bank charge is linked with its real amount.

The average

Once you've paid for two different due dates, Surrah replaces your estimate with the average of what you paid for the last 3. The payment that makes it two counts straight away. The row then shows the amount marked avg, for example ~35 OMR · avg. Payments toward the same due date are added together.

Mark paid

On a bill whose amount varies, Mark paid opens with the amount ready to type, and shows your last payment and the average, for example Last 32 · avg 35. Enter what you actually paid.

Payment history

Open the commitment to see Payment history: a chart of what you paid each month over the last 12 months. It appears once at least two payments are recorded.

Recorded a payment by mistake? Tap Undo on it, or Unlink the bank charge, and Surrah works out the estimate again without that payment.
