Start a project from a preset

A preset fills your Project plan with the lines and contractor payments that usually come with that kind of project. It only adds. Nothing you already have is replaced, and presets are free.

When you create a project

  1. Choose the project Kind. Tap Skip to leave it as Other.
  2. Under Start from, pick a preset, or keep Blank project, the default.
  3. On Review the plan, untick what you don't want and change any amount. Tap Add your own line to add more. Lines priced as a share of the project take their amount from the project total.
  4. Tap Create space. The lines are added with the project.

Blank still opens the Review step, empty, so you can add lines now or plan later from Project plan.

On a project you already have

Open Project plan and tap Apply a preset. Pick one, review it and tap Apply. Only the owner and editors can apply.

Contractor payments

Some presets include a contract line and payment stages: Advance %, progress claims and two retention releases. Retention can be up to 5%. The stages are counted from the contract line, and together they always add up to it. Tick the contract line, or untick the stages. Surrah also adds a Contractor payee, agreed at the stages' total.

It merges, it never replaces

Anything already in your plan is shown as Already in your plan and left as it was. If a preset has nothing new, Surrah says so. Once applied, the lines are yours: change or delete them like any other line. If a fixed amount can't be converted to your project's currency yet, it is left blank for you to type.
