Cash and runway for your business
The Cash card on Work Home answers one question: how long can the business keep going at its usual pace?
What it shows
- Cash: the latest bank balance of each of the space's accounts, added together, with the date (As of ...). Credit cards never count. Balances in other currencies are converted at a fresh rate; an account with no rate yet is left out.
- ≈ N months at your usual burn: cash divided by how much more goes out than comes in each month, using the last three full months.
- A small line under the figure follows the recent balance.
When it shows a note instead of months
- Cash is growing: money in is at least money out.
- Not enough history yet: the space hasn't had a full month.
- Waiting for a fresh balance: an account has no balance yet, or a balance is 8 to 29 days old. A balance 30 days old or more is treated as dormant: it doesn't hold the card back unless every balance is that old, and the card says Includes N older balances. The figure returns as soon as a new bank message arrives.
- No bank balance yet: no account has reported a balance.
Good to know
- Balances come from your bank messages. You can also enter one by hand from the account.
- Owner pay always counts as money out here, so the months are honest.
- The card is about today, whichever period Home shows. It is hidden when the period's figures are locked.
- The owner-pay tiles sit in this card.
