When money owed settles itself

Once Surrah knows how your bank writes a client's name, money from that client can settle what they owe without you doing anything.

Nothing settles on an amount alone. Surrah only settles on its own when the sender's name is remembered as automatic for exactly one client. Anything else, at most, asks you.

The first time: the Confirm card asks

On a money-in card in a Work space you may see Is this {client} paying what they owe?

  • If the amount equals one open amount, or equals one client's oldest open amounts added together, Surrah shows those amounts and what still owed after this.
  • If several clients match, they are listed, with the likeliest first. Pick the right one, or tap No.
  • Tap Yes and exactly the amounts shown are settled. Match future ones from {name} appears, on by default, so later messages from that sender settle on their own.
  • Tap No, or leave it unanswered, and the money stays plain money in.
  • If the amounts owed changed since the card opened, Surrah says so and asks you to check again.

After that: automatic

A later money-in message from the same sender is filed as usual and settles the client's earliest open amounts on its own. For the next 24 hours Work Home shows a banner: {amount} from {client} arrived · Marked as paid, with Undo.

Undo

Tap Undo, or Unmatch on the transaction. The amounts go back exactly, and the next message from that sender asks again.

What is never settled

A move between your own accounts, a bank card payment, and a message in another currency. You can still tap Mark as paid later.
